Ondina Lobo's Old House is a philanthropic entity, founded in 1950, which houses elderly people without resources. The “House”, as it is affectionately called, serves, as a boarding school, 96 shelters of both sexes, without any prejudice of race, color or religion.
In 1947, under the guidance of Ondina Lobo, something was requested to be done for the benefit of the least fortunate. The group was at a standstill in deciding whether to take care of the children or the old.
They had the response of this wise kind soul - who gives the entity its name and who dedicated its life to helping the poor - the words that showed the way forward. Ondina used to say, the shelter's founders say, “At the cry of a child, everyone helps. Already the smile of an old man scares away. ”
